Batik as a global cultural heritage

October 2nd 2009 will be the important date for us, Indonesian. Because on that date, UNESCO will classify BATIK, produced by Indonesians, as an intangible element of global cultural heritage.

Therefore, President of Indonesia is calling us, to use BATIK on that date.

Rattan bag

Finally, second post! :) (i was sooooo busy... hihihihi)

My second post is about craft from Indonesia.

Hmmm.....

We (Indonesian people, of course!) have various unique but so pretty crafts because we have various raw materials and we are soooooo creative (in fact, please exclude me.. :( I am not so creative in making unique craft. I wish I could! Hmmm.....)

Craft that I will show for now is bag that made from rattan. Can you imagine we can use rattan bag? Don't you think we are so creative? We change rattan into beautiful bag that can be used for either just hanging out with friends or even going to party. I bought this bag from INACRAFT (Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair) 2009. I really heart it!

But so bad, I could only show one bag because I only bought one bag. But I will still try to ask the bag producer whether I could put their pictures or not.

Gado-gado

My first post is about food. It's because I love eating. And I chose Gado-gado to be the first subject because this is one of my favorite food. Well, actually all kinds of food are my favorite food. :))))

In English, Gado-gado means hodgepodge. Yap..!! Like its name, this food, which is alike with salad, has hodgepodge ingredients. You can put anykind of boiled vegetables or side dish you like. You can put boiled eggs, tofu, water spinach, boiled potatoes, long beans, cucumber, etc. But sure do, you have to put vegetables because the mostly the ingredients are vegetable. One thing that you have to put is peanut sauce for its dressing. Otherwise, we cant call it gado-gado. In the end, you have to stir all the ingredient and then VOILA! You get very delicious thing to eat.. Hmm... Yummy Yummy!

For better Indonesia tourism

Since I was a kid, I always want to go travelling around Indonesia. That is because I know Indonesia has many provinces which have own uniqueness that is completely different from one another, starting from food, festival, traditional clothes, traditional song, traditional dance, etc.

At first, visiting all spots in Indonesia was my only desire. But when I know that one of Indonesia neighbor country has now become one of suggested tourist spots in Asia while Indonesia still stays the same, I was so sad to know that truth. How come that neighbor country become so famous but many people still think Bali is not part of Indonesia. I become more sad, remembering that in fact Indonesia has more recommended places to visit even lifetime won't be enough to see all the uniquenesses.

Then one day, I changed my dream, from travelling around Indonesia to promoting Indonesia tourism and presenting Indonesia culture to all people in this world, if it is possible to all creatures in this universe :)))

That is why I made this blog.
